Back from Florida!

Hey all,

I enjoyed a great weekend in Naples with my family.  A memorial service was held on Saturday for my Grandpa who passed away last week.  He was truly a great man who loved Jesus.  this was evident oin how he loved people.  i got to hear some great stories of the lives he touched in his 7 short years in Naples.  He was truly an Ikon and  I rejoice in the FACT that he has gone to his eternal home with Jesus!

Thanks for all your thoughts and prayers.

I’m looking forward to seeing you all this week!

Merry Christmas!

I was reflecting today on the week leading up to this Christmas.  Before opening a single present this morning i received so many gifts:

Saturday: The Fam - All my brothers(and 3 significant others) and my one younger sister were in town.  We played cards, ate pizza, told stupid jokes, sang stupid songs. it was awesome

Sunday: Goldeneye- Went to the Schallhorn Christmas party,  was not feeling so great. spent half the time on the couch playing the Nintendo 64 classic with Joel and Michael….I’m not as good as i remember being.

Monday:  The Miracle Nap – the stomach bug hit me and Jenny pretty hard Sunday night.  we both stayed home from work on Monday.  our two lovely daughters graced us with a 4 hour nap and we got some much-needed rest…that never happens.

Tuesday: Name that Tune – went to a Christmas party at our friends house.  they busted out a vintage accordion and we each had turns attempting to play a Christmas song while everyone else guessed….nobody knew how to play the acordian….I won!

Wednesday: Snowman – The girls and i built their first snowman ever!  i remembered how much fun it is to play in the snow! Hope we get a lot more this winter.

Thursday: Best Man - A good friend calls me up and asks me to be the best man in his wedding in June.  Knowing that someone values your friendship that much is an overwhelming honor.

Thursday night: Christmas Eve – I held my 3-year-old daughter Audrey in my arms at Worship as we sang Glory in the Highest.  She began to sing along.  I have never experienced a more worshipful moment…I almost cried.

Friday: Christmas Morning – Audrey came down to our bedroom when she woke up. she passed by the tree with the gifts  to crawl in to bed with me and Jenny …she fell back to sleep on my chest…I have never felt more loved.  later on we opened gifts with Audrey and Claire… the wonder and excitement on their faces was priceless. I love being a dad.

The gifts that i received this week were priceless and undeserved.  they are memories that I will cherish and enjoy for a long time.  it’s through these gifts that I understand the love of Christ better.

Man sinned and fell away from God. God sent his Son, Jesus, to be born in a stable so that he would one day die on a cross to bring us back to Him.  this was the ultimate gift.  This is the most priceless and undeserved gift of all time.  Cherish it and enjoy it!

Merry Christmas!

Peter
